*とにかく、音楽のワンダーランドだあ！！！ (島田＠青梅）さん *私の葬式でかけてもらいたい音楽、それがこのヴァン・ダイク・パークスのジャンプ！です。きっと元気になって生き返る。ははは。これの発表当時、私すっかりニュウ・ウエイブの人もしくはフリージャズの人だったんですが聴いてしまったらもうそんなの関係なくめろめろに。以来20年あまり私の個人アルバム・チャートのトップに君臨してるのだ。若い頃はけっこうややこしくてひねくれ気味のハリウッド・ドリーム音楽を作っていたパークスさん、ここでは子供に聴かせたい音楽を作ろうとアメリカ民話「ブレア・ラビット／リーマスおじさんの物語」（邦題うさぎどんときつねどん）を題材としてまったく素直なアメリカの素敵な音楽の要素を一同に集めたかのようなうきうきするやつを作ってくれてます。まったくどんなことしたらこんな素敵な音を出せるのかねぇ。いつもなら弱いかなあと感じる彼のヴォーカルもここでは優しいお父さん、いつもならうげーって言っちゃうオペラ調の女性ヴォーカルもうっとりしちゃうし、スリードッグナイトのダニイ・ハットンさんの歌、いやーうまいってハットンしちゃう。１曲目のテーマからぐいぐい引き込まれて２曲目のオポチュニティ・フォー・トゥで早くも止めをさされてしまいます。まともかく聴いてみてください。ロックとはもはや言えないかもしれないけど音楽としてこれは私の中で究極。全世界の音楽ファン、ミュージシャンに捧げたいぞー。喜。 (マスター)2003.9.18 |
