本日は胸キュン・ポップ・ファンに捧げる2枚です。
まず最初は７０年代後半に英国STIFFレーベルのアクロン・コンピレーションでディーヴォと一緒にデビューしたとゆうレイチェル・スイートさん。アヴァンギャルドな土地柄ですがこれはもうポップの塊、グラハム・パーカーのバック・バンド、ルーモアがバックを担当した７８年の1stアルバム「フール・アラウンド」はもっとも勢いのあったころのStiffの叡智を結集した大傑作アルバム。確実に名盤入りなんですけど再発いまだされず。で、この激安アルバムはいかがでしょう。試聴するならその１ｓｔからの５．と１６．を是非。これで胸がキュンキュンしない方がこの世にいるのかあ。その他にもダムドの２．、グラハム・パーカーの名曲をテクノにしてしまった１０．、原曲のかけらも無くしたカントリーヴァージョンのディーボの２０．とその後の迷走ぶりを伺えるような(笑)楽しい曲もあります。ご本人は英国美空ひばり少女時代な人なんですが、くそ生意気な子供タレントのむかつきさは無し。田舎の出身だからか。げに子役は大成しないなあ。それにしても凄いジャケット。これでわ誰も買わん(爆)。

２枚目はレイチェルさんの１６．ステイ・アホワイルをオリジナル・ヒットさせましたダスティ・スプリングフィールドさんのベストです。おなじみベイ・シティ・ローラーズの２．ももちろん収録。バカラックさん最高傑作「ルック・オブ・ラブ」、仰天ヴァン・モリソンの「ティペロ・ハニー」とこちらももちろん楽しさ満載でござる。

1985年に英国で結成されたバンドです。音楽はブロンディ・ミーツ・ツインピークス。特に「ドリーミン」が好きな人にはもーそれ一本の路線でこれでもかと。最高の曲は「クラッシュ」。この曲だけはパワー・ポップ永遠の名曲として後々までに語り継がれることに。その他は如何に。クラッシュほどではないものの小粒できらりと光る曲揃い。ワンパターンとゆうことなかれ。これで良いのだ。
　実はわしのバンド、ラバーズホリデイはこの人たちを大いに参考にさせてもらってます。ポップな曲をラウドビートでやるちゅう。だもんで個人的ツボにはまった忘れられないバンドなのだ。

ＮＷ女性バンドの王者として君臨しております彼女らのベスト。一本芯の通った情念ヴォーカルに異国情緒のスパイスが効いて楽しめちゃう。こうしてベストとゆう形で見てみると良い曲が多かったのにも気がつきます。これはもうこれからもとことん活動して頑張ってもらいたいのだ。ＮＷ界黒柳徹子と化して。ロバスミとのどっちがどっちだかわからないし兄弟みたいだしちゅうデュエット・ヒットを飛ばしておくれー。
