*年も押し迫って今年最高の盤を聴いてしまいました。それはジェスロ・タルの新譜、クリスマス・アルバム。クリスマス・アルバムと言っても全部オリジナル、過去自分でやったクリスマス関連の曲の再演と新曲で構成された盤です。いやーやられた。もう最高。ここ最近の新譜と言うと良いと思うものでも音が良すぎるとか出来過ぎ君とかなんらかの文句言いたくなるものが多いのですがこりゃあ違います。もう全部ＯＫ。タルの通史でも最高の部類に入るものじゃ無いかと思っております。クリスマスってゆうのがイアンさんのモチベーションをビンビン刺激したのでしょうか。もう気持ち良くフルート吹きまくり歌縦横無尽に繰り出しまくり。完全に自分の型を会得しているタルさんですから要は気持ちよく意欲溢れてやることが出来ればこんな傑作が生まれてしまうのだなあ。ジャケットの雰囲気そのままの英国の冬景色がどわーっと眼前に広がるこの心地良さよ。音が絞り込まれてすっきりバンドサウンドで神秘の森、逞しい馬を彷彿とさせるトラッド風味、イアンさんはトラッドは専門外だちゅうて言ってますんでイギリス演歌か[(^o^)]、もうしみじみ、うわたまらん。相棒は旧知の仲間のギターのマーティン・バレさん、フェアポート・コンベンションのデイブ・ペグさん他。ソロも良いんだけどタル名義になると確実に違うわ。バンドを意識してる。まだまだベテランはやれます。もう嬉しくって。当然、クリスマスが終わっても聴きますよー。人生アルバムだなこりゃ。 (マスター)03.12.22 |
